My mom was born in 1966 in New Jersey and wore colorful, mismatched clothes in the 1960s-70s. Growing up, I often received hand-me-down clothes from older church friends since my family didn't have a lot of money. My dad would cut my hair short since I didn't like his haircuts. I was born in 1992 in New Jersey holding a football. As a child, I continued to receive hand-me-down athletic clothes from friends and wore sports uniforms. My mom would buzz cut my hair to save money on haircuts. Today, I still prefer wearing shorts and t-shirts with sports logos but only brand new clothes due to a distaste for used clothes formed in childhood
