This document discusses the geoethics of interstellar space missions proposed for launch within the next 100 years. The author defines a baseline "geoethical interstellar" mission (GIB mission) that would involve constant low acceleration/deceleration to travel within 20 light years of Earth within the lifetime of adult passengers for the purpose of spacesteading. The author argues that geoethics can be satisfied for such missions through informed consent of passengers and their descendants, with trustee arrangements to enforce consent terms. The document also notes that geoethical obligations to non-terrestrial beings would depend on discernable values, of which there are currently none.
