What does it mean – global? Changes in biosphere or in large parts of it Connection between different changes Reasons, and expanding consequences Globalization – cultural and social processes; Cultural assimilation, economical unification
Some of them… Global warming (Greenhouse effect) Ozone hole (O 3 ), UV radiation Acid rains Starvation, lack of food and freshwater Increasing human population; poverty Decreasing biodiversity Desert enlargeing; Rainforest usage, erosion Garbage, wastewater, air pollution
Climate changes Mostly discussed as global warming and its consequences: rainy winters, drought summers decreasing and changing biodiversity migrant species melting icelayers, glaciers;  extremal weather phenomena etc Long-term and short-term cycles should be taken into account
Possible reasons of climate changes Solar cycles (short and long term), activeness of the Sun Astronomical parametres of the Earth: axis of rotation, trajectory, etc Continent and ocean location and surface area Albedo – surface (radiation) reflection Aerosols – form volcanos or industry Greenhouse gases, human influence Ocean streams (i.e Golf) and -geochemistry
