Associate Children's Counselors, volunteers, and contract workers.
• Protect all children from abuse, harassment, ridicule, or other forms of
mistreatment by others. Report all suspected child abuse in accordance with California
law.
• Plan and direct recreational and social activities with the children.
• Prepare necessary and assigned documentation such as incident reports,
maintenance requests, cottage log, and outing requests.
• Assist in the routine organization, care, and maintenance of the shelter facilities
and property. Submits maintenance requests, when necessary.
• Assist children with the care and protection of their belongings that are brought to
the cottage.

• Implement an after school recreation program with at-risk youth. Worked at
Senior Centers and with disabled youth for Office of Therapeutic Services. Worked with
Volunteers, Big Brothers/Big Sisters program, San Jose State Interns.
• Implement and maintain sports programming with positive reinforcements. Teach
youth social skills in settings that were outside their communities such as field trips,
grant writing and interviewing, Holiday Food drives, Family Giving Tree gift giving.

diversion, work in collaboration with J.W. Fair middle school staff, Franklin McKinley
Educational foundation and the Santee Action Center.
• Work community clean-up and events involving project crackdown, attend Fair

emergencies and special events.
• Make flyers and posters for events and trips. Keep track of monthly attendance,
memberships and incident reports.
• In charge of community service workers, explain job expectations, rules, disburse
job duties and follow up with paper work to appropriate agencies.

Connection gang diversion mtg. Worked closely with Project Crackdown in the Fair
community.
