GoAnimate allows users to create simple animated videos by typing text that is interpreted and voiced by characters in various scenarios. Key features include creating a free account, choosing a scenario and character, typing dialogue, recording or using computer voices, previewing and editing the video, saving it, and sharing the URL to embed it or post it to YouTube.

- 1. Go Animate Go to goanimate.com Create an account- the free one has lots of obvious limitations but still does some good stuff. If anyone wanted to build a collection of these then it might be worth thinking of a departmental account so that they could be posted to YouTube andgive you more options. Once logged in click on ‘make video’ then click on ‘browse all’ 2. choose the scenario you want, click on it then click next 3. Choose one of the settings within that ‘topic’ and click next
- 2. 4. Type your text in- be careful with proper nouns that it may struggle with. I spell Yvert as eevair for example. 5. If you don’t like the robotic voices then you can record your own (or you students’) 6. At any time you can preview and then go back and edit. Once it is completely done click ‘save’ when you have previewed it 7. in ‘your videos’ you can access all the films you have created. 8. To share it click on the video and go here to copy the url. There are other things you can do such as change the accent but if you get this far you will be able to work that out!!
