Basics of Search
• Every word matters. Generally, all the words
  you put in the query will be used.
• Lowercase/Uppercase does not matter
• Generally Search ignores punctuation. This
  includes @#%^*()=[] and other special
  characters.
• Keep it simple
Advance Search
• “vidco” will bring you exact match
• “vidco digital” will bring you phrase search
• ( digital marketing site:www.vidcodigital.com
  ) will bring you digital marketing search in
  vidcodigital.com
• ( Books –history ) will bring you Books which
  are not related to history term
Advance Search(2)
• [ Obama voted * on the * bill ] * means fill in
  the blanks
• OR means include either one of the several
  words
  – (San Francisco Giants 2004 OR 2005) search both
  – San Francisco Giants 2004
  – San Francisco Giants 2005 in same query
Advance Search(3)
• File Type Search
  – (filetype:pdf 2011 social media report) will bring
    just pdf files
• Under News Search
  – marilyn monroe source:new_york_times
• Under Images Search
  – favicons imagesize:16x16
