WORK EXPERIENCE
GRADUATE RESEARCH ASSISTANT JANUARY/2011 –
MAY/2012
UNIVERSITY OF NEVADA, RENO (USA)
· Fixed-term research contract position; performed preliminary research on a system model to
calculate global carbon emissions associated with international trade between the US and China.
This research considered socio-economic and political implications, economics and an engineering
study.
· Maintained good academic standing an overall GPA of 3.37 and enrolled in 48 credits of graduate
level courses (600-700) throughout the duration of the assistantship. Relevant courses included:
Global Environmental Policy, National Geothermal Academy, and Earth Resources and Energy: The
End of Oil?
GRADUATE RESEARCH ASSISTANT FULL-TIME AS PART OF THE M.SC.; MAY 2009- AUGUST
2009
CENTRE FOR HEPATOLOGY, ROYAL FREE CAMPUS
UCL MEDICAL SCHOOL
· Evaluated the effect of fine sand filtration on the sodium alginate solution’s properties, and
determined and measured any changes in the physical properties of the non-Newtonian fluid by
rheology.
· Immobilised encapsulated HepG2 cells in filtered alginate solution and compared with non-filtered

· Designed, managed and supervised contaminated land site investigations; delivered environmental
impact assessments; liaised with contractors, stakeholders and laboratories. Made final
recommendations for remediation and land reuse.
· Modelled the spread of environmental /geological pollution due to oil and/or medical waste using the
“Surfer” software. Supervised sampling and logging of data and preparation of reports and proposals
for environmental agencies leading to acceptance and remediation.
