- 1. A Flamenco Guitarist M icah,17,isaselftaughtflamenco guitarist,wholearnedfromJuan Martin’sinstructionalseriousof DVDsandbooklets. Micah has been passionately playing flamenco for the last four years and says, “For me being a very emotional person, I find its a very good outlet.” As he performed at the CardelTheatre this past October, Micah revealed to his audience the artist he is in the music he played. 1. A look of total concentration can be seen on Micah’s face as he performs on stage in front of an audience of 150 people. 2. Micahbackstagepracticingwith anotherflamencoguitarist.Otherflamenco dancersstandbyhissideinsupport. 3. The connection Micah has to his music can be seen when he closes his eyes and lets the music consume him. 4. As flamenco guitarists often beat their fingers on the strings of their guitar, Micah protects his fingers by super glueing tissue paper to his finger nails. 5. Taking a break from rehearsing, Micah gained another perspective by listening and clapping to the other music being played. 6. Part of preparing for his own performance is watching himself play in the mirror. 7. Music is a strong part of who Micah is as he sits with his guitar infront of a fireplace and brick wall.
