- 2. For my photography I used my Nikon D3200 DSLR camera. It is an incredibly high quality camera and it also very simple to use with it’s 24.2 megapixel camera with both manual and automatic control. Due to it being my own personal camera, I was very knowledgeable about how to use it so when it came to the photography I was able to capture images quickly and effectively. Another massive plus point of using my own camera was that I could develop my already advanced skills even further.
- 3. • I changed the ISO setting to 8 which gave me the correct aperture for the light I was dealing with to make sure that the image I was capturing wasn’t too light or too dark. • I used the manual focus to focus in on both Old John and my model, this was due to it being so windy at all of my shoots, however I do wish that I had used automatic focus for my billboard poster because the image that I produced was a little blurry and wasn’t focused on the model.
- 4. I used a Velbon Tripod to help me capture my images up at Old John in Bradgate Park and also in the yoga studio. It allowed me to capture images steadily so that I receive minimal camera movement as possible. Having used this piece of equipment before when filming for previous coursework requirements, I felt very confident with it and I used it to the best of its ability. It was especially useful on the times when it was very windy up at Old John and it allowed me to steady the camera. However, like I said earlier the billboard image produced was slightly blurry which made me feel like I hadn’t used it to the best of my ability.
- 5. I mainly used the light reflector when taking my image for my contents page in the yoga studio, I found it very difficult to position it to get the correct lighting and minimal shadows on my models due to the sunlight beaming through the French doors. However, I eventually got the correct lighting which looked natural for my image and I was very happy with it. I am now a lot more aware of how important lighting is for an image because it can look flat if the lighting isn't correct.
