The Heads Together charity focuses on the issue of mental health and well-being buy raising
money and awareness to support those in need The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince
Harry have launched their new campaign to end the stigma around mental health. The Heads
Together campaign will see them working in partnership with inspiring charities to change the
national conversation on mental wellbeing. Their Royal Highnesses are keen to build on the
great work that is already taking place across the country, to ensure that people feel
comfortable with their everyday mental wellbeing, feel able to support their friends and
families through difficult times, and that stigma no longer prevents people getting the help they
need.
Many celebrities suffer from mental health issues such as Owen Wilson who tried to slit his
wrist, Johnny cash who tried to overdose on drugs, Artie Lange who stabbed himself several
times in 2010, Vanilla Ice who tried overdose on heroin and many more.
The number of young individuals calling helplines went from around 400 a day to an average of
more than 800. MDF, The Bipolar Organization, believe it's down to the storyline in BBC One
cleanser EastEnders including the character Stacey Slater. Bipolar is a mental clutter which
affects more than half a million individuals in the UK. It makes people's temperament go from
exceptionally low, making you feel depressed, to extraordinary highs known as mania and is
frequently diagnosed between the ages of 18 and 24. Emmerdale producers have won praise
for handling mental health issues in a current storyline highlighting one of the soap's major
characters; Zak Dingle. Since Zak Dingle savagely assaulted his own child, the program has seen
him drinking intensely and suffering from anxiety attacks. The final few weeks have seen his
condition become increasingly concerning. Not being able to come to terms with his obvious
mental state, Zak attempted to put his health concerns down to the return of his testicular
cancer. His family is too finding it troublesome to come to terms with his mental sickness.
Suicide in men has been described as a silent epidemic: epidemic because of its high incidence
and substantial contribution to men’s mortality, and silent because of a lack of public
awareness, a paucity of explanatory research, and the reluctance of men to seek help for
suicide-related concerns. A statistical overview demonstrates a shockingly high rate of death by
suicide for men compared with women, and a need to focus attention on prevention,
screening, treatment, and service delivery. Promising lines of research include identification of
clinical indicators specifically predictive of male suicide and exploration of precipitating and
predisposing factors that distinguish male suicide and account for the substantial gender
disparity. Only by breaking the silence—building public awareness, refining explanatory
frameworks, implementing preventive strategies, and undertaking research—will we overcome
this epidemic. One reason that men are more likely to complete suicide is because they are less
likely than ladies to inquire for help or talk about depressive or self-destructive feelings. Recent
statistics show that 72% of individuals who died by suicide between 2002 and 2012 had not
2
been in contact with their GP or a health professional about these sentiments in the year
before their suicide. The statistics highlight that talking about suicide is still exceedingly
stigmatized. Talking about suicide and understanding it better is essential to offer assistance to
prevent further suicides in the UK.
The suicide rate in Asian women Is higher than any other group of females in any country
significantly because how they are viewed and treated in society. Within a lot of Asian countries
women lack rights and are extremely inferior to men, they have to follow strict regulations
otherwise they will be discriminated against. For or a long time, rural life in South Asian was
terrible for ladies. They were married early, confined and denied the same level of education as
boys. Even nowadays, many rural women are treated like second-class citizens by their family,
subordinate to their fathers, brothers and - once married - their husband and mother-in-law.
Many are left with mental wellbeing issues - but small or no support or help in managing them.
Men have been dominant as recipients, mediators, and transmitters of divine messages, while
ladies have generally remained passive receivers of lessons and ardent practitioners of religious
rituals. States of mind created around patriarchal interpretations of religious belief have
characterized and formed the social and cultural settings of Asian females resulting in their
disempowerment and second-class status.
The djinn roams the deserts and wilderness and inhabits caves. They are usually invisible, but
have the power to shape-shift to any form, be it insect, animal, human, or entity. They have
long been regarded as malicious and dangerous, capable of bringing bad luck, illness, disaster,
and death. Even when granting favors, they have a trickster nature and can twist events for the
worse. The djinn is often seen as a myth however some Islamic groups believe that it exists.
Indonesia’s leading psychiatric body has classified homosexuality and sexual orientation
dysphoria as mental illness– saying they believe the illness can be cured with proper treatment.
also, in Jamaica homosexuality is deemed as mental illness and they have no restrictions on
how far they will go to discriminate against homosexual individuals. In May 2015 Rio Ferdinand
lost his 34-year-old spouse Rebecca to cancer. The documentary takes after Rio as he meets
other families adapting to loss and looks at what help is accessible for guardians and children
who have experienced loss. Okto, stylized as Okto, is a TV channel in Singapore, overseen by
