    – Product and installer MCS certificated
      for systems under 45kW
• Automatic degression

   – From October 2012 alongside the Green Deal
• New build homes
   – An RHI tariff will be considered for the 2012 phase
• Consultation later in 2011 on the phase 2 RHI tariffs

   –   Solar Thermal - £300/unit
   –   Air Source Heat Pumps - £850/unit
   –   Biomass boilers - £950/unit
   –   Ground Source Heat Pumps - £1250/unit

• Installations will be eligible for a RHI tariff
• Installed technologies monitored
   – to enable better understanding
• Clear eligibility criteria in order to qualify
   – a well insulated home based on EPC
   – agreeing to give feedback on how the equipment performs
• Off the gas grid key focus
   – fuels more expensive and higher carbon content
• Details due to be announced May 2011??

• Draft regulations closed for comment 5th April 2011
• Clearance through Commission
   – state aid and technical standards
• Aim to get phase 1 tariffs through Parliament in July and
  open for applications with Ofgem thereafter
• Consult on Phase 2 proposals autumn 2011
• Draft regulations for phase 2 spring 2012
• Launch Phase 2 RHI autumn 2012
