In Historical Studies you are going to explore events in

• Length and
• Depth
In other words from a different point of view than just
studying from books or even your own point of view.
• In Historical Studies we are going to look at
the world in which we exist. The
cultures, globalization, how politics has
changed the world to as we know it
today, how people have changed and adapted
to the changing world.
• You are going to be studying people, historical
events, ideologies, ideas etc.
• You will discover how major historic events
change peoples perceptions about
people, ideas and views.
• On a daily basis you interact with people around
you.
• Now you are at University, you will meet people
that have come from different
cultures, backgrounds and religions.
• You will make friends with people that come from
all over South Africa and the world.
• This is were you are going to put the world into
context.
• At University you are required to prepare
ahead for your lectures.
