This document lists and provides brief descriptions of several US federal holidays. It notes that federal holidays are days recognized by the US government where federal offices are closed. - 11. This is a day we celebrate our independence from Great Britain. We celebrate by having BBQ’s, parades, and lighting off fireworks.

- 22. Hanukkah Hanukkah is a Jewish Holiday celebrated in December.
- 23. Kwanzaa This is a holiday celebrating African culture and traditions during the Christmas season. The festivals last 1 week.
- 24. Valentines Day This day is a day to spend with your loved ones :) In the United States, many people give small gifts, flowers, cards, or do something special for the people they care about.
- 25. Groundhogs Day Every year in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania, the people ask a groundhog if winter is over. If the groundhog sees his shadow, there will be 6 more weeks of winter!

- 34. Syttende Mai This holiday is celebrated mostly in a neighborhood in Seattle. It is Norwegian Independence Day. There is a parade there every year!
- 35. Fathers Day Fathers Day is a day to celebrate Dad. We typically buy my dad tools or a gift.
- 36. Pearl Harbor Pearl Harbor is a Day that we remember those who died in Hawaii at Pearl Harbor when the Japanese surprise attacked the USA in 1942.
