Since July 1, 1997 Hong Kong is a Special Administrative Region (SAR) of the People's
Republic of China (PRC). It is a part of the Pearl River Delta region, one of the leading

OVERVIEW

Because of its subtropical location, Hong Kong is a year-round destination. However, summers are
generally hot and humid, while winters are cool and dry. Here’s a monthly break up of Hong
Kong’s climatic conditions so you can plan when to go:
March - April and October – November : These are the best times of the year to visit Hong
Kong. The spring time (March - April) sees cool evenings. The months of October and November
are agreeable too. Pleasant breezes, perfect amount of sunshine and moderate temperatures are
some things which make autumn an ideal time to visit the Island.
May - September: This is the typhoon season in Hong Kong and thus not a preferred time to
travel to the Island. June to August is when the city tends to get very hot, wet and humid. The
temperatures go beyond 31°C and the high humidity levels make it difficult for anyone to indulge
in any outdoor activities.
December - February: Hong Kong is the coldest between December and February. It remains dry
and cloudy during this time and the temperatures can drop below 10°C. Also, many shops remain
closed during the Chinese New Year (mid-January to February, dates change annually).

1. Hong Kong Disneyland
Hong Kong Disneyland is a theme park
located on reclaimed land in Penny's
Bay, Lantau Island. It is located inside
the Hong Kong Disneyland Resort and
it is owned and managed by Hong
Kong International Theme Parks.

2. Ocean Park
Ocean Park Hong Kong, is a marine
mammal park, oceanarium, animal
theme park and amusement park
situated in Wong Chuk Hang and Nam

3. Hong Kong Wet Land
Park
The park is home to a collection

The bay got its name from the 19th

‘repulsed’ the attacking pirates.

experience.

7. Lantau Island through the
Ngong Ping 360 Cable Car
Though there are many ways one
could get to Lantau Island, the Ngong
Ping 360 Cable Car is undoubtedly the
best one out of those. Apart from
giving one splendid views of the island
and the Ngong Ping Village, the cable
car ride would also provide mind
blowing vistas of the famous statue
of Giant Buddha.

8. Lan Kwai Fong

9. Star Ferry
One of the most inexpensive ways to
explore Hong Kong is via the Star Ferry
that lets one ride
between Kowloon and Central. Named

Visit’ by National Geographic, the 10
minute Ferry crossing ride gives one a
stunning view of the city skyline and
the world’s most photographed
harbour.

10. Avenue of Stars
It is established on Hong Kong’s
version of the Hollywood Walk of
Fame, the popular attraction featuring
about 100 statues of celebrities, film
stars, scriptwriters, & directors was
created as a tribute to Hong Kong’s
film industry.

11. Big Buddha
The world’s second largest outdoor
bronze statue– the Giant Buddha, In
fact, The Big Buddha, or Tian Tan, is
also visible from the Ngong Ping 360
Cable Car. But in order to truly
experience this sanctum’s peaceful,
charismatic and enlightening
influences, one should definitely climb
the 268 steps leading to the
statue itself!

12. Wong Tai Sin Temple
The Wong Tai Sin Temple, is known for
granting any wish made before it,
which is why a lot of people come back
to the temple from far off to thank the

Established in 1997, this gilded
Bauhinia statue was a token from
China’s Central Government to Hong

14. Tsim Sha Tsui Clock Tower
This 44 metre tall Clock Tower which
was originally a part of the Kowloon-
Canton Railway Terminus. The railway
station has now been replaced with
iconic landmarks such as the Peninsula
Hotel, the Hong Kong Cultural Centre,
& the Star Ferry Terminal, and acts as
a reminder of the colonial rule that
once prevailed in Hong Kong.

The village is one of the important

1. Ruins of St. Paul’s: Time
travel to the 16th century
Popularly known as Sam Ba Sing Tzik,
Ruins of St. Paul’s and age-old
structure of Macau with a gigantic relic
and a stairway that reflect the remains
of the century-old Jesuit Church. This
structure of the biggest catholic church
of East Asia has five tiers, built in
granite.

2. Senado Square: The
happening square with a

This is an important World Heritage
Site as announced by UNESCO since it
well portrays the magical history of
Macau.

5. A-Ma Temple: The temple
of seafarers and fishermen
A-Ma Temple dates back to 1488 and
is devoted to the Chinese Goddess
Matsu worshiped by seafarers and
fishermen. It is believed that Macau’s
name itself was inspired by this
temple.
There are six sections of the temple
and each holds significant spiritual
significance of its own.

6. Fisherman’s Wharf: Merry
time on the seashore
It is a themed shopping mall and park,
designed following Euramerican
fisherman’s wharfs. Spread over
sprawling 28 acres,.

volcano and waterfalls, model

7. Macau Museum: Know
more about Macau
communities
Macau Museum is a huge display area,
exhibiting items and souvenirs of
different communities and
nationalities. Offering an insight into
history and culture, it has become one
of the most visited Macau tourist
attractions.

entry at 5:30 pm. Closed on Monday.
Entry fee: 15 MOP for adults and 8
MOP for children (5-10) years and
senior citizens. Entry is free for all on
every 15th day of the month.

8. Wine and Grand Prix
Museum: What’s better than
cars and wine together!
The Grand Prix Museum is known for
displays that are connected to Grand
Prix globally, such as images, video
clips, demonstrated write ups, victory
cups, chronicles of champions and
many celebratory items.
It was built in 1933 in memory of the
40th anniversary of Grand Prix Racing
in Macau

on Tuesdays.

9. Fortaleza do Monte:
Ruins of historic battles
Located in close proximity to St Pauls
Ruins, this Fortaleza do Monte has
historical cannons, barracks, cisterns
and storehouses, used in significant
historical battles. Known as a military
fort, this place attracts tourists,
especially history buffs. Today, one
side of this vintage fort is refurbished
as the city office of Macau
Meteorological Bureau.
Don’t miss: Canons used Dutch
invaded Macau in 1622

10. Hac Sa Beach: Spectacular
black sand beach
Hac Sa is the largest natural
beach located on the south-western
side of Coloane Island . This is a black
sand beach and offers immense

11. Kun Iam Statue: The
Goddess of Mercy
A 20 m tall bronze statue of Goddess
of Mercy emerging from a lotus. The
lotus structure is an ecumenical
center, which shares various
pamphlets on Buddhism and preaches

Buddhist Centre is open all day from
10 am to 6 pm, except Friday.

12. St Lawrence Church: A
neo-classical structure
Is known as a praying ground for
families of Portuguese sailors for a safe
return.

13. The Macau Canidrome
Club: Among the best places
to visit in Macau with kids
Canidrome Club is the only greyhound
racing venue in Asia. The club is known
for spectacular and thrilling dog races,
5 days every week.

peninsula. The fort is an elegant white
structure representing western and

spiritual and fabulous motivation.

chapel is open from 10 am – 6 pm. No
admission after 5:30 pm.

glittering entertainment zone
Nightlife in City of Dreams is just

Visa Information
Each pre-arrival registration for an Indian national will be valid
for six months or until the expiry date of the Indian passport
linked to it, whichever is earlier. Provided that normal
immigration requirements are met, a registrant may, during the
validity of the pre-arrival registration, use a valid notification
slip together with the specific and valid Indian passport linked
to the successful pre-arrival registration to make multiple visits
to Hong Kong visa-free. On each visit, a registrant may stay in
Hong Kong for up to 14 days.
In case pre-arrival registration is unsuccessful, Indian nationals
shall apply to the Immigration Department directly for an entry
visa if they intend to visit Hong Kong.
