How did i get my work out there?

- 2. PRINTING MY FANZINE • At first, I was unsure on how I could make my project so I could show it to other people. I knew I needed to get it printed but I couldn't decide which online printing website to use, I decided to email around to see what the best deals were. I emailed Quacks and Focus4Print companies to see what there prices were going to be. Quacks responded with a price of £40 + vat for 5 copies. Focus4Print never responded. • I then went online to see what online companies could do, I looked at Mixam.com which I researched before in my problem solving. I chose Mixam as it was the cheaper option for more copies. Overall it cost £30.50 for 8 copies including printing. It was quick difficult to correct the bleed as it needed to be 3mm along the pages. This was quite confusing to do, but once I got my head around it, it was easy.

- 7. EVENTS/ SOCIAL MEDIA/ WEBSITES • I decided to look at fanzine events near me, there is a York fanzine event in August. This is something that I am interesting in as I think it would be a good way to get my way out there as well as looking at other peoples fanzines. Nearer the time I will be able to sign up, so I will see if I am free this day. I also created a Instagram for my fanzine, I started off by following different feminist accounts and waited for them to follow me back. I decided that I would create a logo for my fanzine as most of the feminists had their own logos. This took a while but after I created it I was very happy with the finished product. I added some photos from this fanzine as well as an image from my last fanzine that I created. I think most of my target audience would be attracted to my fanzine on Instagram instead of other social media platforms. Over the past few days, I have gained 10 followers, this may not be a lot as I think I haven't been as active as I hoped I would be but over the next few days I would like to be more active with new images on there. Most of the people who follow this Instagram accounts are feminist accounts as well as some people from my class with their professional accounts. I decided to add my fanzine onto issuu.com as this was another way on how I could attract my target audience, the setting up of issuu.com was a little bit confusing but once I had realised what I needed to do it was much easier. I am excited to see where I can get my fanzine about and see how popular it could be. I have also been looking at selling my fanzine online or in shops. I looked at signing up to People Of Print where they sell millions of fanzines online. I am currently waiting for them to get back to me. I also looked into getting my work into the Travelling Man shop in York. I am also waiting for them to get back to me.
