- 13. The open source model in the cloud computing environment The value of ICT is moving to high-level communication (Internet in the Cloud, commoditization of software, the disappearance of the browser, the virtualization of PC). A new market of computing resources (hw and sw) is rising, which is based on communication between clouds and within the cloud - but it can be closed or open. Open Source (Open Innovation) can be the model to build inter-cloud communication platforms as it is able to addresses technical, economics and legal issues (Flexibility, Neutrality, Interoperability, SLA management, Exchange, Trade ) . Further researches are needed to understand how the open source is evolving in the cloud system ( from CODE to DATA ). The InterCloud exchange is a testing platform for its evolution.
