How to create item-based advanced promotions in NetSuite

After enabling item-specific promotions in NetSuite, there are two main types of item-based promotions that can be created: 1. Percentage discounts can be applied to predefined groups of items. Promotions are set up by selecting eligible items, setting a promotional percentage discount, and saving the record. 2. Free shipping can be assigned to certain items on an order. A shipping discount is set for a particular shipping method and applied to selected eligible items. Item-based promotions offer discounts at the line item level and are reflected on sales transactions. Examples provided walk through setting up a percentage discount and free shipping promotion on selected items.

- 3. After installing the Advanced Promotions module, you have to enable item- specific promotions. How to enable item-specific promotions: Go to Customization > Plug-ins > Manage Plug-ins > Promotions (Administrator) > check the Item Specific Promotion box. With item-based promotions, you can offer percentage or currency amount discounts on items. You can also use this type of promotion to offer discounted shipping.
