- 2. MAKE SURE THE BATTERY IS DEAD Turn the ignition. If the engine does nothing, your battery is probably dead.
- 3. POSITION THE CARS Park so that the distance between both car batteries is minimal without the cars touching.

- 5. PUT SAFETY GEAR ON Safety first! Keep a pair of safety goggles and gloves in your vehicle with your jumper cables.
- 6. CONNECT THE JUMPER CABLES Connect one red clamp to the positive (+) terminal of the dead battery. Connect the other red clamp to the positive (+) terminal of the good battery. Connect one black clamp to the negative (-) terminal of the good battery. Connect the other black clamp to a piece of grounded metal on the dead car.
