become established knowledge, since it has been a never ending goal to bring the wolves back and

of exterminating the wolf in Durham, we should find it, if it exists, and add a tracking device. It would
be a huge stepping stone in the study of this animal. This could enhance our knowledge on the species
and may even help us form an idea on how to successfully repopulate the states with the species.
Instead of the dark and biased article against the big bad wolf, this piece should take its place. The
negative feelings addressed in the article need to be replaced with positive feelings because this would

When I met my former fiancé, we were both in grad school at a very good program, working on a mix

In the short story Monkey s Paw, W.W. Jacobs creates a tale of a man who s curiousness leads to a
tragic ending. He uses this tale to illustrate a theme of how to much curiosity can be dangerous. Jacobs
utilizes many different literary techniques to explain his theme. At the beginning of the story W.W.
Jacob uses foreshadowing that hints at the decision Mr.White will make at the climax of the story. The
title Monkey s Paw symbolizes curiosity, due to the fact that monkeys are curious animals . Also,
Mr.White s yearning to go to India symbolizes his curiosity about the rest of the world and how he
wants to travel to and experience exotic areas. In addition to symbolism, the setting of this story also
plays a necessary role in helping Jacobs portray his message. Many people may believe Jacobs theme
is the downfall of greedy people or the importance of being content. But many contradictions appear
with a deeper look into the story. Jacobs utilizes foreshadowing, title, setting, character, and various
others symbols to emphasize his theme of the dangers of curiosity.
The first indication of the theme emerges at the beginning of the story when Mr.White and his son,
Herbert, are playing chess. While they were playing chess, Jacobs describes Mr. White s technique by
explaining he possessed ideas about the game involving radical chances (Jacobs 17). This scene
foreshadows Mr.White s willingness to make high risk decisions to satisfy his curiousness. Mr.White
is curious if his high risk ideas would eventually lead him to win the match of chess.

In A Hunger Artist, the main character s lack of fulfillment causes him despair. He reacts to this
disparity by starving himself, almost as if showing resistance to the outside world. He views himself
as separate from everyone else, thus confining himself in a cage (Bedford 636).
Another evident similarity between the two works is the treatment of the characters. Both Gregor and
the hunger artist are treated inhumanely. This is clear in The Metamorphosis when Greta begins to

Explaining the Decline of Business in 2007
At the onset of this project we came up with the claim that I could use the logarithmic and/or natural
log to explain the decline in business. The way in which this is to be accomplished is by taking all the
sales figures from a 31 day period in 2007. We would then take another month with the same 31 day
period and take those figures. After graphing and comparing the two we postulate that the graphs
would show the direct decline graphically of what we will explain in this paper. After graphing the
figures we saw that the mathematical model that we had previously used would not be adequate with
the explanation. So we then did another 31 day comparative between a 31 day period in 2007. Then
again in 2013. These figures were then compared to the national average for hotels for the same
period. The interesting fact that came about was the direct correlation between the falls in sales figures
both nationally and here in south Florida and the corresponding securitization and real estate bubble
burst. What we will do in the following pages is explain what led up to the bubble burst as well as
some of the mathematical approaches in explaining the bursts. Every economic bubble in history
started with reckless expansion of money supply and credit, reckless manipulation of interest rates, or
