a total piece of property, but Imoinda was also an erotic figure as she was in control
of her own territories (221). Imoinda tried getting over the stereotype of being a
property and had gained respect from other people as they realized she is a human

Nicholas Stoller s Neighbors
When I got the invite to see Nicholas Stoller s work in progress comedy Neighbors
back in February, I didn t know what to expect. Of course, I knew it was going to
be raunchy but my main concern was whether the film would be actually funny.
Seth Rogen s particular brand of comedy has been largely hit or miss with me as
there are times where I ve found him too abrasive (like in 2011 s ill advised
reimagining of venerable radio serial crime fighter the Green Hornet) but when he s
in a role that plays to his strengths, he can be absolutely hilarious. Despite my mixed
feelings on Rogen, the biggest wildcard in Neighbors was Zac Efron. Women
specifically teenage girls may go crazy over his baby blue eyes and perfectly

Bradbury a native of Waukegan, Illinois grew up happy and desired to be a writer at

Abstract
Cross cultural differences in change blindness has been a topic of interest to
psychologists in recent times. The literature shows a trend in perception that Eastern
individuals note more details of the background whereas Western individuals tend to
focus more on central objects. The change blindness phenomenon also follows this
trend in the literature with Eastern individuals being more observant of background
changes and Western individuals being more observant of foreground changes. In this
study, the participants took part in a change blindness task that included both
foreground and background trials. A repeated measures ANOVA was conducted on
the results and it was found that there was a significant difference in accuracy scores
between Chinese and English participants. Post Hoc analysis concluded that Chinese
participants were significantly better at the background trial and that English
participants were significantly better at the foreground trial.

I believe that industrialization was generally beneficial to the lives of the American

The Epic of Beowulf is about many things, one could say. It involves changes of
power, darkness and light, overcoming challenges, temptation and destruction, war, et
cetera, et cetera. These themes, and many more, make up what are known as major
and minor themes. Both are of equal importance to a story in its entirety; the
difference being that major themes address the writer s most significant ideas, while
minor themes refer to an idea that appears only momentarily.
For example: a major theme in Beowulf could be overcoming challenges, because it
is one of the main ideas throughout the story. Beowulf defeats Brecca, and Grendel,
and Grendel s mother, and the dragon at the end, and had already faced many threats

people s normal merry making begins afresh.
This pattern can be seen throughout all of Beowulf s tale. It transpires again when

to Beowulf. He rules well for fifty years, keeping the balance of chaos and order in
check. It is here that the pattern of chaos to order is altered. With Beowulf as king,
the Danes land had no fear of monsters attacking again, and any wars that may have
taken place were small enough that true turmoil did not exist again until Beowulf
himself was old and grey. That was when the dragon awoke. A runaway slave
seeking respite from an angry master found his way into the dragon s barrow and
inadvertently stole a precious golden goblet from the hoard of treasure he found

During the first day of class, Professor Bean had our Social Work in Disasters class
split up into several different groups. The groups were those who lived in another
country, been in a disaster suffered traumatic loss, worked in a rescue relief, and
been a natural helper. I was a part of the natural helper group because of my one
week alternative break trip to the Dominican Republic. Prior to this trip, I was
recently declared a social work major, and I was unaware of the various systems
social workers work with. This trip taught me so much about how systems work
together or for that matter, do not work together. I will never forget the home visits
my alternative break group and I went on during our one week stay. I did not even
know it before that the people I met experienced individual and collective trauma. A
vast majority of the people I met experienced individual trauma through murders of
loved ones, house fires, and sexual abuse. I observed collective trauma through the
individual s experiences with floods, which caused members of the community to
have no communication with one another for weeks. I am not sure if it relates, but I
also concluded that the election of their new leader was a good example of
collective trauma. The community felt hopeless, many people vanished or migrated

Gender pronouns are an ever growing issue in our world, developing into an
exceptionally hot
topic in today s society. There are some citizens out there who prefer the use of non
binary pronouns
such as they/their instead of him/her, because they feel as though their gender should

Even though some people may not agree with banning gender pronouns, it would
protect transgender
and other non binary people from discrimination, expand the possibilities for gender
identity and
expression, and reduce the impact that gender has on our educational system.
