Howard shultz
 He was born July 19th, 1953.
 Schultz went to Canarsie High School.
 He went to Northern Michigan University by
    earning an athletic scholarship.
 Grew up in Brooklyn, New York
 In 1975 he earned his bachelor's degree in
    Communications
 His dad was Fred Schultz, he was a US Army
Trooper then, became a truck driver and his
mom was Elaine. He also had two siblings a
brother and sister. They were a Jewish family
but they grew up in Brooklyn.
 First he worked for Xerox corporation as a
    salesperson.
 Then, he worked for Hammarplast (Swedish
drip coffee maker manufacturer) as a general
    manager.
 After that, he started his own coffee shop called
    Il Giornale.
 Starbucks!

 The first Starbucks opened on March 30th, 1971
    in Seattle, Washington.

 In 1987 the original owners sold the Starbucks
chain to Howard Schultz who was a former
    employee.

 There was 6 stores in Seattle by 1986.
There are three main reasons why Starbucks was
and still is so successful.

1. It’s a environment friendly to everyone. Starbucks has
high quality coffee and even for the kids they have
     plenty of caffeine free beverages.
2. The surroundings are great. Customers should
already know what they’re walking into. The
environment should be “comfortable.” There’s a
warm, green color scheme with calm alternative
music, basic/natural artwork, and employees with
     matching green uniforms.
3. It’s always appropriate and useful. They want to
satisfy you and your taste buds. Also, the employees
are brisk and keep the lines moving with quality
     work.
 One thing he took in consideration is doing
something he liked. Before even being officially
a part of Starbucks he had his own coffee shop,
so obviously he had an interest in coffee.
 He was also “strong-willed.”
 He was willing to work hard.
 He just didn’t ever take no for an answer. He
never gave up, even after his first coffee shop,
he continued to start with a whole new
    beginning.
