- 7. FACTS ABOUT HUNGER • It is the number one risk to health today. • In every 3.5 seconds, someone somewhere dies of hunger or hunger related causes. (a child dies due these causes every 6 seconds) • 96,197 tons of food have been wasted in the USA than compared to the mere 20,054 tons of global food aid donated today. • Actions are being taken in order to decrease world hunger.
