The IAI Eitan (also known as Heron TP) is a MALE reconnaissance UAV developed by Israel Aerospace Industries. It has a wingspan of 26m, length of 14m, and can carry a 1000kg payload with a maximum takeoff weight of 4650kg. It is powered by a 1200hp turboprop engine and has an operational range of over 7400km and endurance of over 70 hours. The Eitan can carry various payloads including EO/IR, SAR, MPR, and communications payloads. It has line of sight and satellite data links and has an operational ceiling of over 14,000m. The Israeli Air Force began operating the Eitan in 2010.
