This document discusses a proposed method for MRI image binarization aimed at improving brain abnormality detection by addressing the challenges of contrast variations and background interference. The method involves two phases: enhancing foreground contrast and calculating an optimal threshold using statistical metrics, demonstrating better performance compared to traditional binarization methods like Otsu and Kapur. Experimental results validate the effectiveness and robustness of the proposed technique, making it a valuable tool in medical image processing.
