Implementing
          Green-IT Strategy & Governance
In a world where climate change is becoming a key concern, private and public companies
are aware that they have to face up to their responsibilities. ICT plays a key role in climate
change and is an important negative contributor to global warming. On the other hand, if
governed well, ICT is a key enabler in tackling the climate challenge.
What most companies nowadays are struggling with is how to realize this. In other words,
how to implement a Green-IT strategy in practice and move towards a low carbon
economy in an increasingly eco-regulated world.

Objectives
This two-day workshop is aimed at providing the audience with an in-depth understanding of
all the different aspects of Green-IT strategy and governance. It explains how Green-IT
governance supports green initiatives at the IT level, and how these can best be implemented
to support a corporate sustainability (CSR) strategy.
The workshop will review the existing regulations around mandatory CO2 (GHG) reporting as
well as other standards and frameworks (ISO, ITU, EPEAT), and provide tools and methods
to implement a Green-IT strategy in practice, using recognized frameworks like CobIT5,
RACI and Green-IT SGM.
The workshop provides a basis for implementing concrete best practices and measurements
that will allow every organization to reduce its environmental footprint, to contribute to a
positive, green corporate image and to evolve towards a sustainable business.

Benefits
This course will help participants to reduce organizations’ environmental impact, comply
with legislation, reduce costs, and generate better relations with customers, shareholders and
other stakeholders.
