The first three semesters taken together consist of 15 core (foundation) papers Fourth modules provide deeper study in management and consist of 5 core papers of specialization. A student is required to seek specialization in one major area in final semester May also seek dual specialization by selecting additional five subjects from other specialization and the programme duration will be additional sem. Will I get a Degree or Diploma Being an Institute, IMT-CDL can provide the Post Graduate Diploma of two years and one year which will bear the recognition of Distance Education Council, Govt. of India. Degree is provided only by University and Institutes can provide only Diploma Even IIMs being country’s premier management institutes, provide only Diploma and not an MBA degree.
- 16. Classes (PCP) at IMT-CDL PCPs (Personal Contact Programmes) are conducted on Saturdays and Sundays in the study centres. Now there are online classes also thru Webex. Since final semester of 2-yrs PGDM is the specialization period, it is controlled from IMT-CDL H.O. directly under the guidance of highly qualified, experienced and professionally aware Faculty irrespective of the study centre the student belongs to. Lectures will be thru video conferencing.
- 17. Examination at IMT-CDL End Term Examinations (ETE) are held in the months of June & December every year. Provision of Supplementary Exams at Regional Centre in the month of March & September every year to clear the backlogs and left outs. Uptil now exams and assignments are off-line with subjective questions. But students can now choose online mode for assignments and exams with prior permission/ registration.

Distribution of Marks Each subject consists of 100 marks with the following bifurcations: ◦ 70 marks – ETE (min. 28 marks required to pass) ◦ 20 marks – Assignments ◦ 10 marks – PCP (min.12 marks required to pass in Assignments+PCP) In total 45% is the minimum pass percentage required to clear a subject.
- 19. What if Student doesn’t attend PCP In that case you will have to secure minimum 12 marks in assignment out of 30 {Assignment (20) + PCP (10)} to qualify the subject besides 28 marks separately for written exam. However, aggregate marks to pass a paper are 45%.
- 20. Maximum Time Period for Validity of the Course Two-Year Programme shall have to be completed within the time-frame of maximum 4 years provided the admission is taken to continue the course as per the policy of IMT-CDL. One-Year Programmes shall have to be completed within the time-frame of maximum 2 years.
- 21. Difference between 1 Year and 2 Year Programmes One Year PG Diploma is the direct specialization in the field of your choice as per the programmes being offered by IMT- CDL Two Year PGDM is the programme in which you will do the specialization in the field of your choice ( Finance, HRM, Operations, Marketing, Systems & International Business) in the fourth Semester. Dual specialization is also possible.
