The infratemporal fossa is located beneath the skull between the pharynx and ramus of the mandible. It contains muscles like the lateral and medial pterygoid muscles, blood vessels including the maxillary artery and vein, and neural structures such as the mandibular nerve. The fossa receives its blood supply from the maxillary artery and innervation from branches of the mandibular nerve. It communicates with the temporal fossa through a gap under the zygomatic arch.
