Why do authors use
               symbolism?
She was very glad when she realised that a new
day dawned...
dawn in this case has a double meaning:
1)dawn = time of the day when light
first appears in the sky, just
         before the sun rises
2) dawn = symbol for a new
beginning

➠ symbolism helps the author to reveal the big concepts under the
surface of a story, like: death, love, dreams..by using simple things that stand
for his or her big concepts.

➠ symbolism makes stories more meaningful and interesting with fewer words!
