- 1. Instructions for setting up your blog This is a long list but don’t be daunted – the idea was to make it very step by step and easy! 1. In Canvas, go to your ‘Account’ tab on the left hand side of the page. 2. Click on e-Portfolios. 3. Click on ‘create an e-Portfolio’. 4. Give the e-Portfolio a name. 5. Tick the box that says ‘make it public’. This will allow your tutor (and nobody else) to see your blog. 6. Click the button that says ‘make e-Portfolio.’ 7. Congratulations! You have set up your blog. 8. Your blog already has one page, called Welcome. Click on ‘edit this page’. 9. Rename the welcome page to: ‘Week 1’. You can give it an additional name if you want. 10. Type your first blog entry in the text box below. You can also add links, pictures etc by using the links on the left-hand side. 11. Click ‘save page.’ 12. Well done! You’ve made your first blog entry. 13. To make your second, click on ‘Organise/ manage pages’ on the right hand side of the page, and click ‘Add another page.’ 14. Each week, you need to do this. Give each blog entry a title that includes the week number (Week 2, Week 3 etc). 15. Don’t forget to click ‘save page’ each time you finish editing. 16. The next thing you need to do is set up a link to your blog in Assignments. 17. Go to the blog home page (this will be the title that you first gave your blog). 18. Copy the URL for your blog (the web address in the bar at the top of the page). 19. Then go back to the home page for the Developing Skills for Business module. 20. You will see ‘Assignments’ as one of the tabs on the left. Click on this. 21. Click on ‘Your blog’ and choose the right group. Enter the URL for your blog (that you have already copied) into the box and click ‘submit assignment.’ This isn’t submitting the final version; it just allows your tutor to see it. 22. That’s it!
