This document describes Brian Huang's research project investigating the relationship between earthquakes detected by seismometers at the LIGO-Hanford Observatory and the sensitivity of the LIGO interferometers to gravitational waves. The research collected data on earthquakes and interferometer sensitivity in 2007. Earthquakes were confirmed using seismometer data and travel time calculations. Preliminary results showed some correlation between earthquakes and decreased interferometer sensitivity, but the relationship was unclear. Further analysis of additional variables like earthquake magnitude and depth was needed to fully model the relationship.
