The Internet of Things (IoT) is described as the network of physical objects connected via the internet, with the potential to connect 28 billion devices by 2020 due to advances in technology such as cheaper sensors and ubiquitous wireless coverage. While IoT offers benefits like improved health monitoring and energy conservation, it also poses privacy and security risks, as well as compatibility issues between different brands of devices. The AllSeen Alliance is working to ensure compatibility among devices to enhance their interconnectedness and utility.
