Interrelation between Innovation and Personality
“Thirty years ago, TV was a sunrise industry,
but now it's a sunset industry. Who knows
how we'll be receiving our news and
entertainment thirty years from now?“ (Mr
Meakin, Director of TV News and Current
Affairs at Chanel Ten).
Imagine that you are a manufacturer of
camera maker using film rolls. Take the
case of Kodak. When it was at its peak it
would have been making a lot of profits.
But with the advent of digital cameras,
the sales would start to slow down and
at some point disappear.

Competing Againts Time: How Time-Based
Competition is Reshaping Global Market
When a time-base competing
can open up response
advantage with turn-around
time three or four times faster
than its competitor, it will almost
always grow three times
faster than the average for the
industry and will be twice as
profitable as the average for all
competitors” (Geogre Stalk,
1990).

Personality, Innovation, and
Matter of Self-Discipline
It is the result of
hardwork, well planned
and executed, and is no
happening. Innovation
is work rather than
genius,… and very
much a matter of
discipline” (Peter F.
Drucker, 1985).
1. The disciplinary mind: mindset that is
built through the learning process;
2. The synthesizing mind: ability to combine
different disciplines.
3. The creating mind: ability to find answers
to a phenomenon that occurs.
4. The respectful mind: awareness to
appreciate the differences created between
human.
5. The ethic mind: high sense of
responsibility to uphold accountability,
integrity, and credibility.

of the Future

Between
Innovation, and Personal Totality
"Personality is the dynamic organization within the individual of
those psycho-physical systems that determine his
characteristics behavior and though" (Allport, 1961, p. 28).
“The characteristics or blend of characteristics that make a
person unique” (Weinberg & Gould, 1999).
Personality refers to individuals' characteristic
patterns of thought, emotion, and behavior,
together with the psychological mechanisms
(hidden or not) behind those patterns (Funder,
D. C., 1997)
Components of
Personality
• Consistency: There is generally a recognizable order and regularity
to behaviors. Essentially, people act in the same ways or similar
ways in a variety of situations.
• Psychological: Personality is a psychological construct, but
research suggests that it is also influenced by biological
processes and needs.
• It impacts behaviors and actions: Personality does not just
influence how we move and respond in our environment; it
also causes us to act in certain ways.
• Multiple expressions: Personality is displayed in more than just
behavior. It can also be seen in our thoughts, feelings, close
relationships and other social interactions.

Integrity
INTEGRITY:
“Fit between word and actions as seen by
others. It means promise keeping and
showing values you profess” ( Simmons, Tony,
2008).
Honesty Truthfulness
Fit of Goodness
Enthusiasm
Desire
These states of mind, sometimes
called ‘desires’, are said to be of
particular interest to ethicists
interested in the possibility of
belief-like attitudes motivating
action all on their own (Smith,
1994; Zangwill 2008).
Enthusiasm
Desire Passion
Every great dream begins with a
dreamer. You have within you the
strength, the patience, and the
passion to reach for the stars to
change the world. Passion is
energy. Feel the power that comes
from focusing on what excites you.
Passion
If passion drives you, let
reason hold the reins. But,
there is no passion to be
found playing small, in
settling for a life that is less
than the one you are capable
of living. And so, develop a
passion for learning. If you
do, you will never cease to
grow.
Passion
Born from him three things:
• Desire to create—A strong desire to create innovative products.
Example: Thomas A. Edison, who created: sound and visual
recording devices, lights, and telephone.
• Challenging spirit—Pleasure to accept the challenge, find, and
conquer it to ignite the explosion potential.
• Curiosity—A kind of psychological
conditions that overwhelmed a
strong desire to find basically
anything to the source and find the
root of the answer.
Enthusiasm
Desire Passion Hope
Hope is like the sun, which, as we
journey toward it, casts the shadow
of our burden behind us. Hope is
being able to see that there is
light despite all of the darkness.
Hope is important because it can
make the present moment less
difficult to bear. If we believe that
tomorrow will be better, we can
bear a hardship today.
Hope
Three grand essentials to happiness in this life are
something to do, something to love, and something to
hope for. We have always held to the hope, the belief, the
conviction that there is a better life, a better world, beyond
the horizon.
Learn from yesterday, live for
today, hope for tomorrow. The
important thing is not to stop
questioning.

Totality is a combination of physical strength, the strength of reason, and
