This 7-week financial management class will cover public vs private companies, financial statements, raising capital, risk and reward, and financial modeling tools. Students will learn through a textbook, online platform, powerpoints, videos and a simulation game. The class will establish norms and students will be evaluated based on rubrics to ensure preparation for internships. The instructor has experience with private and public companies as well as non-profits and holds multiple degrees in finance and economics. Students are asked what they hope to get out of the class and if they have any questions.
