- 5. Main Types of Diabetes • Type 1: – Normally diagnosed under 40 years old – Treated with Insulin, diet control and physical activity • Type 2: – Normally diagnosed over 40 years old – Treated with diet control and physical activity – Tablets and/or Insulin may also be prescribed
