- 2. Project Goals Ultimate goal of project Provide a viable terrestrial network alternative to the two existing networks, for the provision of high speed data communications services between Perth, Adelaide and Melbourne, through to Brisbane Timing Commercially in service by December 2002

Project Description A 3,875km $160 million broadband fibre optic cable transmission network linking Melbourne and Perth The network was funded by a $160 million finance package, with equity from ABN AMRO $90 million in debt from ANZ Banking Group Ltd Centre Solutions - a subsidiary of the Zurich Group, and a minor component made up by vendors
