This document summarizes a proposed authentication system called the Implicit Password Authentication System (IPAS). IPAS aims to address weaknesses in existing authentication schemes like passwords, tokens, biometrics and graphical passwords. It proposes using a set of questions and answers during registration that are then implicitly embedded into images by the server during authentication, avoiding directly reproducing the registration information. The system is intended for use in mobile banking but could generalize to other client-server environments requiring user authentication.
