Iris is the Greek goddess of the rainbow, messenger of the gods. She is the daughter of Thaumas and Electra and sister to the Harpies. Iris is married to Zephyrus and their son is Pothos. Her primary role is as the faithful messenger of Zeus, carrying messages between gods and humans. She is able to put liars to sleep by using water from the River Styx. Iris is represented by the rainbow and uses it as the path for her messages between heaven and earth.
