The document describes a design for a microstrip patch antenna with enhanced bandwidth and harmonic suppression for WLAN applications. A pair of quarter-wavelength resonators are placed in parallel with the rectangular patch to increase bandwidth through electromagnetic coupling at two resonant frequencies. A shorting pin is used to combine the resonators and suppress harmonic radiation. Simulation results show the proposed antenna achieves over 20% bandwidth compared to a traditional patch antenna, and reduces harmonic radiation. The antenna is designed to resonate at 3.6GHz for WLAN applications using FR4 substrate.
