This document discusses three options for an IT project to provide internet access for a laboratory. Option 1 involves installing a local ISP with 10Mbps or more and distributing the signal via access points and a LAN, which would be easy to install but limit phone and printing options. Option 2 is an Access@site VPN tunnel solution that could provide full services with low cost but relies on an uncertain third party provider. Option 3 uses Verizon's E-site VPN service and supports all needed services but at a higher installation cost and reliance on internet service providers.
