Human Resources Coordinator: Performance Evaluation
Jamie Cantero, managed by Jennifer Freitas
SEARCH FILE CREATION:
Supervisor Comments: Jamie, you have been diligent in your efforts to track down all search files from myself, Margie, Jai, and Jennie. Your willingness to learn new systems and take on new
projects has been much appreciated. You’re a quick study, organized, and creative. You are always thinking about ways to make the process more efficient or user-friendly. An example of
this was when you found an easier way to combine and upload the application and resume in Taleo into 1 pdf. You demonstrated that you thought through the current process and the
desired outcomes and explored the functionality of the tool to arrive at a better approach. This really shows your creative approach and ability to streamline processes. Great job at
managing this project.
Margie was also very appreciative of your efforts in this area, as she said the following:
“Jamie has been instrumental in helping our team catch up on Search Files and documenting improvements to the Search File process. Her work and help have been invaluable! She is very
bright, detail oriented, organized, and easy to work with. I wish Jamie much success as she explores and gains experience in the Human Resources field.” Margie Mene, HR Representative
HIGH POTENTIAL DATABASE:
Supervisor Comments: Some of the employee profiles had bits and pieces missing, which made it more difficult to track down the information and add it to the database. However, I know
that you went through many hard copy and soft copies files and reconciled the information that you gathered to be able to get the database to the point it is at today. You also offered
insightful suggestions for how to improve the database to make it more user-friendly. Your recommendation to use a free-type field instead of a drop-down field is just one example of how
you were proactive, engaged in the project and showed initiative. You’ve done a really great job pulling together all of these moving parts and following up with Suzanne on outstanding
items. This project was a high priority for Suzanne and allowed her to see some of your work firsthand. I think you did a great job getting this to the point where Suzanne can use the
database for the purpose she envisioned.
SALARY LETTER/PERSONNEL FILE UPLOAD:
Supervisor Comments: This project required good project management skills and required you to balance competing priorities and you did just that. It also required you to be resourceful and
troubleshoot some technical issues with IT. I have great confidence in your ability to research and resolve issues with our IT partners. You demonstrated the ability to work independently
and take ownership of this project. I really appreciated being able to hand this off to you and not have to worry about if it was being done correctly or going to be completed on time. I am so
relieved to have the personnel files up-to-date, thank you very much for your efforts.
DISPOSITION REQS:
Supervisor Comments: Although we initially thought this would be a larger portion of your job, the dispositioning of requisitions really wasn’t a consistent request from our managers to allow
us to be able to transition this process to you. Hopefully the requisition that we did walk through together gave you some insight into the process and more exposure to the Taleo recruiting
tool. Your desire to learn new applications and processes was evidenced by how you soaked up the information we discussed when reviewing this one requisition.
I-9/SU-18 REPORTING:
Supervisor Comments: You have demonstrated great reliability and consistency in running these reports for us each week. Even though you weren’t familiar with some of the Excel functions
needed to produce these reports, you took notes and asked questions and, after a brief learning curve, were able to create the reports on your own. You displayed growth and a desire to
learn new things in this responsibility. Great job.
GENERAL:
Supervisor Comments: Jamie, you ask great questions. I can tell you really want to understand why and how things work together. Your desire to understand the big picture is a great,
strategic asset. Your initiative to document new processes for future reference really shows how proactive you are. Example: As a result of the trouble you had being able to open SECURE:
emails, you worked with IT to resolve the issue and then took the initiative to document the process to accessing secure emails. That will take you very far in your career and will help set you
apart from your peers. I was really impressed, especially since you did this right when you started working with us in Business Affairs and didn’t need to be prompted at all.
. I would say that in your role with us this year as a student employee, our expectation that we discussed was that school work would take priority, but that you would give us as much
advanced notice as possible if scheduling conflicts were to arise. I think there a couple of occasions where you rescheduled or mentioned a request to work remotely that could have been
discussed a bit earlier, but these instances did not seem to impact your productivity and you got your work done.
It has been a pleasure working with you this year, Jamie. I have really enjoyed our talks about HR and your career goals and interests. And I have been very thankful to have you on the team
contributing to our compliance efforts. Jai also valued your efforts and said the following:
“Jamie was a big help to me. She also provided a clear information and direction on what she needed to complete and up-load search files for us. She had a positive attitude and easy to work
with.”
