This document contains excerpts from the Bible discussing Jesus' encounter with religious leaders who brought a woman accused of adultery to him. The leaders wanted to trap Jesus by having him either contradict Moses' law requiring her stoning or defy the Roman authorities. Jesus responded by saying whoever was without sin should cast the first stone, causing all her accusers to leave in conviction. When alone with the woman, Jesus forgave her sins and told her to sin no more.

John 8 1) Jesus went unto the mount of Olives. 2) And early in the morning he came again into the temple, and all the people came unto him; and he sat down, and taught them. 3) And the scribes and Pharisees brought unto him a woman taken in adultery; and when they had set her in the midst, 4) They say unto him, Master, this woman was taken in adultery, in the very act.

- 11. Num 5:16-19 If there is no witness to the act and you don’t have both parties the woman is set before the Lord and the ‘dust’ determines if she gets cursed.

- 13. John 8:7 So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her. They knew from the start they didn’t have grounds to stone her. The scribes and Pharisees were responsible to know & enforce the law.

John 8 8) And again he stooped down, and wrote on the ground. 9) And they which heard it, being convicted by their own conscience, went out one by one, beginning at the eldest, even unto the last: and Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst. 10) When Jesus had lifted up himself, and saw none but the woman, he said unto her, Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee?
- 15. John 8:11 She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more. Condemned: without hope; a condemned prisoner is waiting to be killed for a crime. A condemned building is in very bad condition and is going to be destroyed
- 16. John 3 17) For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18) He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
