Bachelor of Science, Mechanical Engineering (June 2014) The University of California, Riverside, Riverside, CA GPA: 3.73/4.0 Test Engineering Intern Northrop Grumman Electronic Systems, Azusa, CA June 2013-September 2013 • Worked with test engineers and technicians to perform environmental tests (thermal, vacuum, radiation, dynamic) on space-based satellites. • Troubleshoot vacuum chamber thermal systems to determine source of malfunctions. • Analyzed vacuum chamber optical calibration data and provided recommendations to optical engineers. • Designed and implemented new structures for an aerospace test facility (class 10k/100k clean room). • Used SolidWorks and Pro/E to model test structure designs. Worked with structural engineers to perform stress analysis and generate FEA models. Lab Assistant Center for Environmental Research and Technology, Riverside, CA July 2012-June 2014 • Led a team of engineering students to design, build, and test a Mobile Solar Power System (MSPS). • Worked with engineers and researchers to design and implement a 4 MW solar power installation as part of the UCR Smart Grid project. • Assisted in the design and implementation of a 1 MWh li-ion battery bank. • Helped develop a load-cell testing setup that was used to characterize the performance and reliability of li-ion battery cells. • Installed field measuring equipment to monitor and record building energy usage. • Used MATLAB and Autonomie to analyze and interpret vehicle driving test data. Optimizing Temperature Uniformity of Li-ion Battery Packs • Investigated the effects of adjusting cell-to-cell spacing of li-ion battery packs on temperature uniformity. • Derived an empirical relationship between cell-to-cell spacing and temperature deviation for li-ion battery packs. Formula SAE • Assisted in rebuilding and upgrading a formula style race car. • Coordinated with machine shop to perform modifications to vehicle chassis. Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) Thermal Regenerator • Designed and built a thermal regenerator used to remove soot buildup from heavily used DPFs. • Performed thermal analysis calculations to ensure system design was feasible. • Developed piping, solenoid valves, relays, and control systems used to deliver air and fuel into the system.
