- 1. The Tabernacle gets a home. 2-7-10
- 2. Joshua 18 1 And the whole congregation of the children of Israel assembled together at Shiloh, and set up the tabernacle of the congregation there. And the land was subdued before them.
- 3. They moved from Gilgal to Shiloh (20 miles) , set up the Tabernacle, and settled down . They were like Peter on the Mount of Transfiguration: "It's good to be here."

- 5. 2 And there remained among the children of Israel seven tribes, which had not yet received their inheritance. 3 And Joshua said unto the children of Israel, How long are ye slack to go to possess the land, which the Lord God of your fathers hath given you? Slack is not a complimentary word. A sluggard is slack. Slack means lazy and irresponsible .

Proverbs 6 (NIV ) 6 Go to the ant, you sluggard; consider its ways and be wise! 7 It has no commander, no overseer or ruler, 8 yet it stores its provisions in summer and gathers its food at harvest. Apply these Truths to our spiritual life . We need to get up and get going . Spiritual poverty and malnutrition is the worst. We must do what we know to do, all the time. Never be slack, but always diligent.
- 7. Proverbs 26 13 The slothful man saith, There is a lion in the way; a lion is in the streets. We must not be fearful to step out. Greater is He Who is in us than He that is in the world.
- 8. Proverbs 20 4 The sluggard will not plow by reason of the cold; therefore shall he beg in harvest, and have nothing. (Conditions are never just right.) Proverbs 10 26 As vinegar to the teeth, and as smoke to the eyes, so is the sluggard to them that send him.

Joshua 22 5 But take diligent heed to do the Com-mandment and the Law, which Moses the servant of the Lord charged you, to love the Lord your God, and to walk in all His Ways, and to keep His Com-mandments, and to cleave unto Him, and to serve Him with all your heart and with all your soul . Colossians 3 23 And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily , as to the Lord, and not unto men; 24 Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ.
- 10. Never work just to "get it over with". There's no such thing as, "That's good enough." To please the Lord, we must give our very best effort at everything we do, all the time. That is diligence! All else is slack.
- 11. We do not work for the money, nor praises of men.
- 12. We work for the Lord, and He gives us our reward. If it's not fit to offer to the Lord, it's not fit for anything. Best work
- 13. 4-9 Joshua sent three men from each of the 7 remaining tribes to map out the land.
- 14. 10 And Joshua cast lots for them in Shiloh before the Lord: and there Joshua divided the land unto the children of Israel according to their divisions. 11 And the lot of the tribe of the children of Benjamin came up according to their families: and the coast of their lot came forth between the children of Judah and the children of Joseph.

- 16. Two points to remember and apply : God expects His children to grow , and to grow we must change . We must not settle down and get comfortable . We must not be slack in the service of our Lord. We must give our very best effort in everything.
