The company publishes Smart Source Magazine, the largest newspaper insert in the US (it reaches nearly 70 million households in more than 1,500 newspapers).NAM’S portfolioof In-Store Media, placed in food,drug, mass, dollar and office-supply stores nationwide, includes coupon and promotion dispensers, in-store video, at-shelf signage and floor and shopping cart advertising and reaches up to 75 million households every fourweeks. In-StoreOrderProcessing(ISOPAutomation) The initial scope of the project was to automate the 1000 regression test cases using QTP in the dedicated Automation environment forthe ISOP application (Web Application). Data base migration to Oracle 11g was implemented and we used the automation scripts for Regression testing by performing batch execution to identify defects. The project scope was extended to automate an additional 1000 regression test cases whichwas identified as part of the Major enhancement release in the ISOP application and in parallel the existing automation suite was used to perform regression testing and forevery major enhancement releases. The existing automation suite contains 2000 scripts whichare being maintained and used forevery major release and for data setup purposes. QTP to SeleniumWebDriver – Migration Period: Dec 2013– till Date As shown earlier, our Application testing was automated using QTP and the 2000 scripts were maintained and used for regression. But our Client seems to be less interested towards the suite performance keeping the QTP cost in mind. So to keep them on the track I proposed forthis migration towards Selenium Web Driver. Initially we have selected few modules for this POCand done implementing selenium. So this has been delivered and the set up looked promising. Following that I have been assigned as a single POCfor Complete Migration. Moreoverthis migration helped to achieve automation suite efficiency and we were able to log more defects than what we did with QTP earlier and we projected a huge revenue gain to our Client by adapting to an open source tool.
