My experience at Kingston
 My experience at Kingston was very positive and
valuable, I learnt a lot about different departments. It
was very interesting to see how a company works. I
met new people who were very welcoming and nice.
It was nice to meet people from all around the world
as Kingston promote cultural diversity.
Learning Experience
 I also improved upon several skills such as application of IT, application of numeracy, literacy,
business and customer awareness, team working and self management.
 Application of IT - I used Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Kingston Scan numerous times
throughout the two weeks
 Application of Numeracy - I was dealing with a lot of numbers when it came to cash receipts and
invoices
 Literacy - I had to read specifications for USB drives in order for me to update
information(capacity, form factor, etc.)
 Business and customer awareness - Most of the departments were dealing with businesses and
customers as this is important to keep a strong brand image as well as generating a high revenue.
 Team working - It was interesting to see how CS, TS and RMA all work together to deal with
certain customers
Most Interesting Experience
 Tech Support -
 It was very interesting to see how a computer works as we use it
almost every day. I learnt about the components required for a
computer to work and Bala gave me the chance to put all the
components(memory, SSD, DVD drive, CPU, graphics card, etc.)
on to the motherboard. Rino also gave me details about each of
the HyperX products where it was fascinating to see the
differences between the HyperX products and the standard.
What you have learnt about yourself ?
 What I learnt about myself that will help me in future
employment is that I am a good listener and good with
numbers. I moreover learnt that I will need to improve
my communication skills as I am a quiet person.
Communication is essential to almost every occupation
and is something I definitely have seen an improvement
in since the beginning of my two weeks. It is something I
will be working on in the near future.
Future
 Work experience at Kingston has definitely given me
ideas as to what I would like to do in the future. I
found Sales and Accounts Payable interesting and I
would love to go in to one of these fields. I would
like to study either Economics or Accountancy at a
Russel Group University.
Thank you for the opportunity you have given me to
find out what is involved in a global company. Thank
also for the time and effort you have committed to
help me make the most out of my time here at
Kingston. Thank you to all of the staff who gave up
their time to give me an understanding of what they
do.
