Dr. Kiranmayi Abburi Venkata is a postdoctoral research associate whose research interests include residual stresses, creep, fracture, and structural integrity. Some of her current projects involve characterizing residual stresses from manufacturing processes and quantifying their effects on structural integrity, including studying weld inhomogeneity effects on creep in dissimilar metal welds and transferability from small-scale lab specimens to large-scale components. Her work also focuses on microstructural analysis of materials and interfaces and effects of residual stresses on elastic-plastic fracture in dissimilar metal welds.
