KNOWLEDGE OF THE UNKNOWN
Prov 19:2 Also, that the soul be without knowledge, it is not good; and
he that hasteth with his feet sinneth.
Prov 19:25 Smite a scorner, and the simple will beware: and reproveone
that hath understanding, and he will understand knowledge.
Acts 17
23 For as I passed by, and beheldyour devotions, I found an altar with this
inscription, TO THE UNKNOWN GOD. Whom therefore ye ignorantly
worship, him declare I unto you.
IGNORANCE and APATHY confronted by “Know
ye not?”
I. The Unknown Development
Before salvation a man is dead, butthinks he is alive. After salvation God gives
man life, but he is to consider himself dead.

3 Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were
baptized into his death?
4 Therefore we are buriedwith him by baptism into death: that like as
Christ was raisedup from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we
also should walk in newness of life.
5 For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we
shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:

Rom 8:10-11 10 And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin;
but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.
11 But if the Spirit of him that raisedup Jesus from the dead dwell in you,
he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal
bodies by his Spiritthat dwelleth in you.
Phil 3:21 Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashionedlike
unto his glorious body, accordingto the working wherebyhe is able even
to subdue all things unto himself.
1John 3:2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear
what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like
him; for we shall see him as he is.

obedience unto righteousness?
Rom 6:13 Neither yield ye your members as instruments of
unrighteousness untosin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are
alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness
unto God.
Josh 24:15 And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this
day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that
were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose
land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.

Matt 6:24 No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one,

6 Your glorying is not good. Know ye not that a little leaven leaveneth
the whole lump?
1Cor 5:7 Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as
ye are unleavened. For even Christour passover is sacrificedfor us:
1Cor 6:15 Know ye not that your bodies are the members of Christ? shall I
then take the members of Christ, and make them the members of an
harlot? God forbid.

kept the faith:
8 Henceforth there is laidup for me a crown of righteousness, which the

16 They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being
abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.
Rom 1:28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge,
God gave them over to a reprobatemind, to do those things which are
not convenient;
2Tim 3:8 Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also
resist the truth: men of corruptminds, reprobate concerningthe faith.
Jer 6:30 Reprobate silver shall men call them, because the LORD hath
rejected them.
