This document summarizes research on analyzing the lipidomic profile of endometrial fluid to assess endometrial receptivity through non-invasive means. Specifically, it discusses how lipids can be identified in endometrial fluid extracts using mass spectrometry. The objectives are to demonstrate specificity of the lipidomic profile in different cycle types and understand how lipids are produced and affect blastocysts. Accuracy of diagnosing cycle outcome by measuring PGE2 and PGF2α levels in fluid obtained before embryo transfer is also examined. Results show levels of these prostaglandins vary over the menstrual cycle and are regulated differently in receptive versus non-receptive endometrium. Expression of their receptors on mouse embryos is also shown.
