He lost his family and home and finally just with a grand son holding at his hand Our Goal Reduce the numbers of deaths, injuries and impact from disasters, Reduce the number of illnesses and impact from diseases and public health emergencies, Increase local community and civil society to address the most urgent situations of vulnerability. Reduce intolerance, discrimination and social exclusion and promote respect for diversity and human dignity. "Improve the lives of vulnerable people by mobilizing the power of humanity". Objective: To assist the people who are affected by floods and landslides with provision of food and non-food relief item sets to secure their immediate needs and livelihood and to facilitate overall relief operation through provision of effective logistical support such as transportation, volunteer mobilization and immediate administrative arrangements. A temporary camp for affected family at a safe ground During the monsoon in July and August caused floods and landslides in Nepal affecting 14 districts in the mid and far-western regions, of which Rasuwa, Kailali, Bardiya, Banke, Dadeldhura, Accham and Kanchapur districts were most affected. The disaster claimed 3 remote Tamangs villages at Rasuwa where 23 people, 47 their domestic animals have dead. Mostly crops and fertile lands have been crumbled away by floods and landslide, similarly 9 houses were completely disappeared and more than 80 families' fully displaced. The immediate response by the District disaster relief committee Rasuwa became able to distribute of locally ready-to-eat food such as beaten rice, Rice, Dahl(lintel), vegetables, instant noodles, biscuits, and non-food relief items such as blankets, clothing materials, mats, water jars, plastics, medicine and kitchen sets to the affected people of Rasuwa. The beneficiary list and registration system to deliver intended assistance have been developed. Since the onset of the disaster event, all the members of District disaster relief committee Rasuwa district, in the affected areas mobilized being volunteer to distribute relief supplies, both food and non-food items. During the disaster, the awareness raised at the community level through disaster preparedness programmed has worked in reducing human losses by timely evacuation, including shifting at-risk population to safer places like schools and health posts. District disaster relief committee Rasuwa has been deployed for emergency assessment, registration of affected people, distribution of pre-stored foods and non-food relief items

In addition, the District disaster relief committee Rasuwa assisted in search and rescue and evacuation operations together with other local stakeholders in the districts, mainly with the government. The District disaster relief committee Rasuwa has been working in coordination with the Government of Nepal, international humanitarian agencies and local organizations in the relief operation. These less fortunate are looking for food and opportunities for their golden future, how unlucky they are………..now they are watching landslide and flood Challenges The affected area is geographically scattered and remote therefore difficult to access. This caused delays in delivery and distribution of the materials. During the first few days, assessments, rescue and relief operations were hampered in the affected areas due to the partial or complete breakdown in communication systems and transportation networks and the area was inaccessible due to the continuing heavy rainfall; however, the situation has improved as floodwater levels receded in most of the affected areas.
