  • #2: Good noon every one. I am kaniteen arefin. I had a nice opportunity to work on a report titled by laptop/pc use habits in academia: A detailed Survey on AIUB students. For next 2 minutes I with my presentation going to high lights short over view of the report
  • #3: My id is one five- three zero zero zero four – two I repeat one five- three zero zero zero four – two And we are from G section
  • #4: Report body contains 4 primary segment.1st one is introduction
  • #5: 2005-2008 was desktop computer evolution period. 2008- to now is laptop evolution period. trend of using desktop among students had been started very slowly. But by development of internet system, telecommunication sector,demand of IT professional in market, new dimension of earning… out sourcing and most importantly Government initiative for the development of IT sector was the reason of this evolution. Honorable prime minister sheikh hasina has declared vision digital bangladesh 2020 and given a lots of chance to the students. Now students are habituated. Brief history of aiub: AIUB was introduced to solve brain drain problem. Talented students from public univrsity started to going abroad after completing graduation. Creating brain here, utilizing on other country is called brain-drain. In this situation AIUB with a great motive had been introduced. Their mission and vision is creating professional skilful graduates with computer and technological knowledge. common. Features of laptop: All knows laptop has builtin monitor, keyboard, track pads, wi-fi battery back up and so oncommon academic use of laptop: Students use laptop for programming, assignment, report and presentation making, doing class work, reading e book on it, visiting VIUS, working on CAD, web design, graphich design and so on
  • #6: Then turns to research and methodology…… I had made a survey on AIUB students from all discipline. Close ended question pattern was followed for the questionnaires. . The questionnaires were distributed to a total of 180 staff, consisting of 60 students at senior level and 120 students of junior level. 60% of them were male. 160 papers was returned by the students fully answered. For data analysing I have used 100 students answer copy.
  • #7: Part 3: graph representation So here is figure number 1 “department wise laptop/pc using rate” Sky blue bar represents laptop user rate Slide Red bar represents rate of desktop user. And white bar represents the rate of students who don’t have laptop/desktop of their own.
  • #8: Here is figure 2: Survey says that 43% of students most often use laptop for academic purpose. 25% for entertainment, black shade represents social networking like facebook, skype etc 15% of them usually keeps busy with internet browsing And 4% students do other activity most of the time they use laptop
  • #9: This pie chart highlights most frequent academic task. Here u can see the percentage. Black represents study White- programming Sky blue- presentation 15 of students are bzy with their most needful software like CAD, visual studio a, code blocks and so on
  • #10: this is the overall statistics report from the survey
  • #11: Final part : conclusion AIUBians are expert on computer technology Habituated with laptop environment class room and system Students have national and international level award as a proof of their technical efficiency. A great community of students They use laptop very commonly in academic purpose
